Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 launched in India – Specs, Features, Price and more

The Korean giant has started to fill its tablet series with some more elegant tablets and the recent one launched is Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 coded as SM-T331. The tablet is all same to its international version but the one thing  that it lacks in is 4G LTE Network support. Samsung launched three variants of Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 worldwide one is only Wi-Fi supportable and other two comes as 3G+WiFi and 3G+4G+Wi-Fi variants. In India, only the 3G+WiFi variant is launched which ofcourse will support 2G. Lets turn on to the specs list of this new member of Galaxy Tab series.

 

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0: Specifications & Features

Body:

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 measures 210 x 124 x 8 mm while it weighs 320 grams which is quite heavy too while we  should expect it to be light as it’s a tablet. The tab seems to be degraded from its previous generation device (Galaxy Tab 4 8.0) which was 6 grams lighter and 0.6 mm thinner from the latter.

Display:

As the name says, it comes with an 8 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen supporting 16 M colors. The tablet’s screen is of 1280 x 800 pixels though the pixel density is only 189ppi which is not much good as compared to the other tabs of this range.

Processor and OS:

All the variants come with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor chipped on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 while the Graphics Processor Unit is Adreno 305. The tablet runs on the latest Android version KitKat 4.4 operating system. Memory: Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 comes with 1.5 Gigs of RAM which is enough to support the processor it operates on while on the storage side, we see 16 GB of in-built storage which can be expanded upto 64 GB with the help of external memory cards.

 

Camera:

On back side of the tablet comes a 3.15 megapixels of camera carrying 2048 into 1536 pixels resolution while video recording is of 720 pixels at 30 fps. Though, we could have seen a better back camera at this price range but unfortunately Samsung hasn’t done that. Coming on the front, the firm has provided 1.3 MP snapper for better selfies experience to its users.

Connectivity:

As I mentioned earlier in the starting, Tab 4 8.0 has three variants one is Wi-Fi only supported and other two supports 3G and 4G LTE along with Wi-Fi in both. Wi-Fi comes with additional features like Wi-Fi direct, Wi-Fi hotspot and dual-band too. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth v4.0, Infrared and microUSB as well.

Others:

The rest of things packed under Tab 4 8.0’s hood include GPS with A-GPS and GLONNAS support, HDMI Port, proximity, ambient light sensors and accelerometer sensor. There is a 4450 mAh Li-ion non-removable battery on the back which provides Music and Video play time of upto 141 hours and 10 hours respectively while Internet usage time is upto 12 hours.
